Project Mental Wellness is committed to fostering a community where mental health is openly discussed and individuals are empowered to seek help without fear of judgement or discrimination. We believe these conversations belong in every family, community and business. As of our ongoing efforts to promote mental health awareness and a suicide safer community, we are weighing heavy on September 10 being World Suicide Prevention Day. With more than 700,000 suicides per year worldwide, this is a day of global commitment that focuses attention on suicide prevention. The International Suicide Prevention Association is pleased to announce the new theme for World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD) 2024-2026 as “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”.
World Suicide Prevention Day is recognized globally and is an opportunity for all communities to come together and make a positive impact by fostering open conversations about mental health and breaking the stigma often associated with it. Acknowledging this day not only shows support with those who have been affected by suicide, but also emphasizes the importance of mental well-being in our society.
We would like to invite you to join us in this important initiative and show your support by purchasing our specially designed awareness t-shirts to wear on September 10. These t-shirts feature a powerful message of hope and support and serve as a visible reminder of the importance of mental health and suicide prevention.
By wearing these t-shirts, our community will:
Proceeds from t-shirt sales will go directly towards funding local awareness campaigns, providing resources, and supporting community-based initiatives. We believe that with your participation, we can make a significant impact in promoting mental health and creating a suicide safer community. PMW
Orders can be placed through our website. Last day to order is August 29th.
We would be honored to have your support and partnership in this crucial cause.
As part of the campaign for WSPD 2024-2026, International Suicide Prevention Association is issuing a call to action: “Start the Conversation.” This call encourages individuals, communities, organizations, and governments to engage in open, honest discussions about mental health and suicide. By starting conversations, we can break down barriers and raise awareness, check in with a friend or loved one, share personal stories and advocate for mental health resources and support services. Every conversation, no matter how small, contributes to a more supportive and understanding society. By addressing these areas and working collaboratively across sectors, we can create a more supportive and compassionate society where suicide is preventable, and everyone feels valued and understood.
